Parish Mission - St Wulfram’s

The biblical account of Holy Week is set in many different locations and venues ranging from very public occasions, times alone in a garden, teaching in the temple, public acts of faith, justice, judgement and intimate meals.

This year, we would like to invite you to be part of a different Holy Week: a week when we exist in all those environments; time as a community in the ‘public square’ beyond the safety of the walls of St Wulfram’s, living, and sharing our faith by words, actions and our presence in the world around us; placing ourselves in the day-to-day activities of others during this Holy Week; not neglecting our praise and worship of Almighty God in this most Holy Week, but encountering God within the secular and allowing God to move in the discussions we might have and share.

Moving beyond the walls of St Wulfram’s to:

- lead the Quiz at Cinco Lounge (39 Isaac Newton Centre, NG31 6EE) on Holy Monday, 14 April at 8pm

- answer questions and lead conversation in Finkins (20A High Street, NG31 6PH) on Holy Tuesday, 15 April at 2.30pm

- have a pint and a natter at ‘Parsons Pints’ in the Blue Pig (9 Vine Street, NG31 6RQ) on Holy Wednesday, 16 April at 7.30pm.

Making an opportunity of invitation to people who do not yet know Jesus, or who have fallen from their faith, to come and encounter   Jesus in the story of humanity’s salvation in the services and hospitality of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Day.

And with this, to witness and be part of three very different processions as we walk through the streets of Grantham, unashamed of who we are, how God has changed us and that despite our failings we know of the love of God and want to share this Good News!

(Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Day)

We want you not only to take part in these events, but also to share these opportunities with others. To invite a friend, or family member. In the same way that we are invitational to family and friends to the various events and socials that we hold, invite people to come to church with you, to come to the various other events taking place in Holy Week, to share the opportunities and give God a chance to speak into the hearts and minds of those we care for.
